When was the last time you just LISTENED to what your body asked for and HONORED it?
Most of us from the West are conditioned to continuously PUSH ourselves BEYOND our limitations of injury, illness, simple pain, to achieve and WIN, our energy is fast and fierce, and because of it, we are often EXHAUSTED and SORE; we don’t take enough time to slow down and integrate all that we are experiencing: physically, mentally, emotionally, as well as spiritually.
This practice is one ANTIDOTE to RUSH & PUSH-through-it culture.
HOW it works:
We open with a Pranayama aligned with the Archetype of the Moon for that day.
We practice postures that focus our Prana on the metaphysical centers of the body that are mostly affected with this lunation. They are mostly seated or lying down positions that encourage the focus on relaxation, stress reduction, and rejuvenation…
allowing you to just BE.
We UTILIZE gravity (instead of fighting reality) and in return it helps us to deepen the grounding without any active engagement of muscles. This is designed to help the body and mind achieve a state of deep rest and healing.
What makes this type of Restorative so special is that as an Accredited Holistic Coach, I offer coaching questions based on the themes of the current Astrological sign the Moon (representing our emotional world) is in, as I guide you through a journey of ponderings for your busy mind to connect with your emotions.
We base the theme around which sign the Moon is currently transiting through.
We will focus on the part of the physical body governed by the energy of this Sign to support your ease through this transit.
Since coaching questions will be provided, it will be a great time to bring your journal along.

We LIVE by the Sun;

Most of us know our “Sun Sign”, the Zodiac sign where the Sun was located in the exact moment we were born. This tells us how our ego interacts in the world. It is the “Who I THINK I am” energy.
But the MOON speaks to our EMOTIONS. HOW we engage with and form a relationship with how & what we FEEL. The moon represents our emotional “body”, and transits through each of the Astrological signs, shifting every 2-3 days, thereby shifting our COLLECTIVE emotional experience. We ALL feel this & if we pay attention, we stand to gain an enormous insight into what needs our attention in our lives.
The Moon represents our emotional realm, and the sign the Moon is currently in speaks to our collective emotional experience- so this class is infused with “meditative” and powerful thought questioning Coaching suggestions for things to ponder during your relaxation, so it’s like “active rest”.
(Yes, I AM trying to trick your mind into thinking it’s doing something active, WHILE actually giving it SPACE to CALM THE FUCK DOWN. Because you not only NEED it ,but you DESERVE it as well.)

HEAL YOUR BODY
Restorative yoga is a very gentle and therapeutic style of yoga, influenced by the Divine Feminine Energy principles of nourishing, nurturing, and tender care for oneself.
Unlike a Yin Yoga class, where the focus is on “finding your edge” & holding there, in Restorative we JUST LET GO. There is only tension you place on yourself; the invitation is for you to stop holding and pushing.
The only movement is setting up in the posture or gentle transitions between positions, and we hold each posture for up to 5 minutes or more to allow the body to truly release. . .
This is NOT actually a practice of “exercise” nor is it “stretching”, it is a practice of sharpening the MIND to be able to be still, practice breathing techniques for regulation, and “sink in” to the truth of your WORTH as the miraculous human BEing that you are, regardless of what you are DOing each day.
The class will close with a Yoga Nidra-esque grounding Savasana and rejoining into waking life with ease (or leaving you to fall FULLY into DEEP sleep).
You will return to your evening feeling fully refreshed and rejuvenated, ready for a deep sleep.

Yoga Nidra is translated from Sanskrit as “Yogic Sleep” or “Yogic Rest”
It is a fully guided meditation done lying down in Savasana, corpse pose. You are instructed not to move or sleep, as you journey through your subconscious mind.
It was developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati to support the seeker’s experience of the SUBTLE energies of self, of the psychic centers. As our Chakras do not exist in our physical body, Anamaya Kosha, but rather metaphysically, we need an altered state of consciousness to recognize our psychic body, Vijnanamaya Kosha, in order for our mind to perceive them.
DEEP RELAXATION IS this “altered state”.
And, in today’s post-apocalyptic world, we ALL need a little bit of “altered” reality to make sense of this one.

Set up your space by being in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed, perhaps light some incense or wear a favorite oil of yours.
We won’t be moving at all, as Yoga Nidra is done in Savasana and in complete stillness.
You will be instructed to STAY AWAKE, but if you do fall asleep, fucking ENJOY it, and stop beating yourself up about everything. My friend doesn’t deserve that shitty treatment from ANYBODY.

We have the gentle nudge of the Universe reminding us with EVERY sign that the moon traverses, just how powerless we are over the cosmic forces, and letting us know, in sometimes subtle, but mostly NOT-SO-SUBTLE ways to S L O W the F U C K D O W N Our Moon is the planet most responsible for CONTROLLING our collective emotional experience. She represents our emotional “body”, and transits through each of the Astrological signs, shifting every 2-3 days into the next one. She doesn’t follow the Gregorian calendar, created by a Pope to ensure the clergy remembered to pay their taxes, she follows HER OWN rhythm, and she does so FLUIDLY, without formal structure, and so her changes; her peaks and valleys can seem chaotic to those who ascribe to the very structural, systematic box-like formalities of the modern world.
The Moon does not care if you have a presentation tomorrow, if you lost your password and can’t get access, if your car broke down or you missed the train, or you “got sick” on the most important day you perceived in your life.
The Moon works within the realm of the Divine Feminine Energy principle of:
The CHAOS of creation energy.
But the Moon also works within the unconditional mothering love principles of :
The Moon is not going to remind you to set your alarm so you wake up in time, but she WILL KEEP YOU UP all night if you’ve neglected to address an aspect of yourself that needs your ATTENTION, because that is how her messaging comes through.
It is NOT direct. It is the “strange pull of that which you truly love” –Rumi, and she will NEVER lead you ASTRAY, but it may FEEL that way at MANY times on our journey, because she works within the MATRIARCHY- the Feminine realm that doesn’t see:
It is not pushy, it is in FLOW with the entire Universe, but it IS POWERFUL.
After all, the Moon rules the very Ocean Tides. And, as we humans are made up of 75% water, she rules US, too.
